The Creative Semantic Web is a vision for the future of the internet. It is one scenario that brings together different currents of development: the semantic web as conceived by Tim Berners-Lee, the social web going beyond current platforms of the day like Twitter, Facebook, Flickr and YouTube and the vision of the creative industries taking active part in the shaping of the future web. Creative Semantic Web integrates the power of new technologies and open standards making the web itself more intelligent, a better place to find sources and inspiration for creative works as well as good contexts to present them.
To take part in the design of the web of the future demands from each member of the creative industries to embrace the technology – without losing a critical judgement about each new development – and to seek enablement in order to develop their own visions of what this future should be like.

Das Creative Semantic Web ist eine Vision für die Zukunft des Internets. Es ist ein Szenario, das verschiedene Stränge der Entwicklung zusammenführt: das Semantische Web, wie es von Tim Berners-Lee entwickelt wurde, ein Social Web, das über die Möglichkeiten heute boomender Plattformen wie Twitter, Facebook, Flickr und YouTube hinausgeht und die Vision von Creative Industries, die in der Gestaltung der Zukunft des Webs eine aktive Rolle einnehmen. Creative Semantic Web verbindet sich mit der Macht neuer Technologien und offener Standards, die das Web selbst intelligenter machen und zu einem besseren Ort, um Quellen und Inspiration für kreative Arbeit zu finden und gute Umgebungen, um sie zu präsentieren.
An der Gestaltung des Webs der Zukunft teilzunehmen verlangt von jedem Einzelnen in den Creative Industries jedoch, sich mit der Technologie auseinanderzusetzen – ohne die kritische Urteilsfähigkeit über neue Entwicklungen zu verlieren – und sich das Wissen anzueignen, das nötig ist, um eigene Visionen entwickeln zu können, wie das Internet der Zukunft beschaffen sein soll.
